In the morning I wrote to my relatives in Hong Kong.

In the evening Sun Fo invited the British Ambassador to China, Archibald Clark Kerr, to have dinner at home. Kerr was quite an honest person, but his capabilities seemed less than Miles Lampson’s. However, he was very honest and reliable, and was particularly good for China. The two secretaries who came with him were also quite good. Zhang Qun said General Chiang invited Chen Jitang to be the Forestry Minister. Consequently he had to leave earlier because he had arranged to invite Chen Jitang to have dinner with friends.
